They reiterate that Es must be restrained, and if you wish to restart and erase the steps you've taken, you must go to Es' room where a reset option is available.

When going back to the endless room, Ego Rex appears and scolds you, telling you that you failed.

Her dialogue ends with her asking you to forgive her, and the ending ends with a mirror shattering with Es seen in the reflection. The book shelves around her lose their books, and she is seen with a maniacal smile, which has been compared to a velociraptor. Returning to Es for the final part, she goes mad, and completely denies the world. When returning to the endless room, all bubbles are black. After stumbling over her words and telling you she understands now, she ends with her signature telling to hurry back when you have more EGO. Es narrates the ending, saying the girl denies herself the world, and that the ending was premeditated and was chosen from the start. Black bubbles saying "Choose impulse" fill the screen, covering all the options but "The world should not be permitted to exist", forcing you to choose that option (tapping the bubbles does nothing). Es informs you that the story trails off after that, and asks you what you think happens in the end. It portrays that the girl is guiding the wanderer, but simply doesn't realize that she, herself, is the wanderer. The story tells the tale of a girl (Es) and a wanderer (you). Tapping on them makes them shake and disappear, and give you more EGO than normal bubbles do.Įventually, she shows you a book titled "Alter Ego", saying she wants to read it but is worried about it, asking you to read it with you. During this period, black bubbles representing Es' thoughts appear in the endless room, with more and more appearing throughout the game. Throughout the story, she becomes progressively more unstable, rejecting the world more and more, and falling into solipsism. In 3-1, she mentions she won't be giving any more personality tests because "it's all just a farce". In the ID ending, Es starts to reject the world around her, calling you her dream.

To obtain this ending, you must choose the ambiguous endings that stand the middle path. This is the true ending, and can only be obtained after getting both 'bad' endings. It can be obtained by agreeing with Ego Rex's ideals of conformity and choosing answers that promote said ideals. This ending is often considered the 'neutral' ending. This leads to Es giving into her impulse and subsequently giving this ending. The ID ending, often considered the worst ending can be obtained by choosing options that promote impulsiveness and freedom.
